Golden syrup is harvested at the beginning of the spring. Because it’s still very cold and the snow hasn’t melted yet, the sap is completely clear. It gives the golden syrup a light flavour with notes of vanilla and marshmallow.
You can use it on anything, but because it’s lighter, it makes a great topping—such as on pancakes or a cake. We also like using it to replace simple syrup in some cocktail recipes.
Good for 3 years. Keeps in the refrigerator 6 to 12 months after opening.
